I Promise You Won't Learn A Thing From This Blog

A little mid-week treat...

Yes, I know it's not Thursday yet, but this was too near and dear to my heart to not share. I feel this way Every. Day. And though I don't mean to be a grammar snob, I do at least have the courtesy to wait until the offender has left before commencing the merciless  ridicule (though trite and self-serving it is).

Now go forth and sin no more

For my friends who also suffer from this malady: Benadryl just won't cut it for this one. But this will.

Happy editing!

  1. Cute cartoon, but I love making grammatical errors and I have no shame.

  2. I think that maybe because grammar is the one area in which I really excel I tend to treat the world of grammar as my own little kingdom, though I do try to be better about the whole reign of terror thing these days...

Honestly, if I were good at anything else (sports, music, fishing, basket-weaving, ANYTHING)I'd probably be just as annoying about it. Maybe it's better than I'm a grammar snob instead of a marine knot-tying snob, or a yodeling snob...

  3. Ha! Too cute. I'm always catching grammatical errors in my own writing, even when pieces have been written and rewritten to the point I think a work is absolutely perfect. Two weeks later, I go back and read it and THERE YOUR GO...grammar flaw! lol

  4. Too funny, Diane! You sound like me...

My day job is at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville and I have to send out massive communications to a department of 600+ people almost daily. The absolute WORST is when I see the error right as I hit “Send” on the email. I can read it and read it and read it and completely miss the typo until that split second.

My “typographical error has been published” growl is known throughout my office suite...

  5. Oh, and did I mention that I'm surrounded by engineers whose favorite collective hobby is racing to call to let me know about the typo?

  9. Oh, I know what you mean! I work with someone who likes to preface EVERYTHING with 'literally.' I end up biting my tongue until it 'literally' bleeds! ;-)
